Meet GUS

Updated: Apr 7, 2020

The Stable Hands Horses are doing well and ready to start the 2020 Season. We thought this would be a nice place to add a virtual meet & greet.

This is Gus. He is a Quarter Horse. Gus is 20 years old and has the coloring & markings of a grulla.

"Wikipedia says... A grulla, like all duns, exhibits a lighter body coat than mane and tail color, clear primitive markings (a distinctive dorsal stripe, horizontal striping on the back of the forelegs, often a transverse stripe over the withers), and the dark "dun mask" on the face."

When he is finished shedding his nice warm winter coat, he is going to be even more beautiful... If that’s even possible. He is 14.2 hands and as you can see in the photos, a stout, strong horse. The perfect size for our sidewalkers.

Gus was donated to the program from Larry Arkfeld to whom we owe a huge heart felt “Thank You “ for Donating such a wonderful horse to Stable Hands.

All Stable Hands Horses must pass a 30 day trial to become an official part of our Stable Hands family. Gus Passed with FLying Colors and we can't wait for our riders to meet him in person! Gus is going to have a great new home and have many new friends, Both human and equine. Welcome Gus!
